Welcome! The VeloRaptors are a social group of cyclists based out of Montclair, Oakland. We offer regular rides on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday open to many experience levels and make sure to include a coffee/snack stop along the way. The majority of our rides are 30 miles or less, but we also have a group that enjoys planning longer, more challenging rides.

About

We are VeloRaptors Cycling Club!

veloraptorsgrouppic1
We host weekly bike rides and social get togethers. We’re based out of Oakland (Montclair), California.

Sundays we meet at the Nelly’s Java (Organic Coffee & Tea) in the Montclair Village at at 1952 Mountain Blvd.(next to the Post Office) for a ride up into the Oakland Hills and beyond. We have “no drop” policy and regroup at several spots along the way, including Sibley Park and the Steam Trains parking lot in Tilden Park. Several riders often continue on through Tilden Park, down Wildcat Cyn road, to San Pablo Dam Rd. We then turn South, cycle to Orinda for coffee and pastries. The return route is through Moraga, Canyon and up Pinehurst.

Come early to socialize! Wheels roll at 8:30 am sharp !

Wednesdays the group also meets at Nelly’s Java,  and starts riding at 9am. The Wednesday ride often goes out to Moraga for coffee and pastries, via Redwood Rd and Pinehurst (round trip 22 mi).  Many of the Wednesday riders bypass the Moraga stop, and continue on to Orinda, where they stop for coffee and pastries, before returning over the hills via Wildcat.  We also plan occasional outlying rides, exploring the fabulous cycling in the Bay Area. Come early to socialize.

ON Saturdays there is a ride which leaves from the Warehouse at 416 26th, Oakland (between Telegraph and Broadway). This ride starts at 9am, and is a casual ride along the bay, often taking the Bay Trail to Pt. Richmond for a coffee/snack stop. These rides vary from one to several hours, all riders welcome!
