Wednesday’s ride starts at Starbucks in Montclair (2059 Mountain Blvd, Oakland, CA 94611). Wheels roll at 9:00 am. Come early to socialize.
Our basic mission on Wednesdays is to ride over the Oakland hills for coffee and snacks in either Moraga for a 20 mile ride, or Orinda for a 35-40 mile ride. Our route over the hills is up Butters, to Skyline then east on Redwood Road down to Pinehurst, then Pinehurst to Moraga Road and into Moraga. Our stop in Moraga is at SiSi’s cafe. The return route is via Moraga Road to Pinehurst, through Canyon and up the Pinehurst climb to Skyline. Starting in Montclair, this ride is about 20 miles with 1600 ft of ascent.
Those riders wanting a longer ride, skip the stop in Moraga and continue on to Orinda. There we stop for coffee and snacks at Cafe Teatro, located at the Library in Orinda. Return is via Wildcat Canyon to Grizzly Peak Blvd. This ride is 35-40 miles with 3800 ft of ascent.
